Hopi Ear Candles
Hopi Ear Candles have been used for many years by many groups of people, including the Hopi Indians. The candles themselves are not candles in the 'normal' sense of the word. They are hollow tubes made from a combination of beeswax, , honey extract, herbs such as Sage, St John's Wort, Camomile and pure essential oils.
The Client lies on their side and the candle is carefully placed at the opening of the ear, ensuring a seal created between the ear and the candle by applying a light turning movement with the candle. As the candle slowly burns down, the gentle heat produced gives a lovely warming sensation and the movement of the flame can create a gentle vibration effect of the air within the candle. This in turns gives a very gentle massage type effect on the ear drum, which can be calming and relaxing.
Once both ears have been treated, the Client is invited to lie on their back whilst a gentle face and head massage is applied, thus completing the feeling of total relaxation.
